I know, past 2 weeks I haven't uploaded a new video haha I'm terrible I know. I made a video and for the past week I've been trying to make myself edit it for tomorrow and I find myself just dazing in and out, sorry :X
But I'm working on it now, almost done :D I don't care much for it but since I've been getting a lot of complaints lately about my overly dramatic "drag" makeup I figured I'd tone it down a little bit. People are still complaining though, they say it's not day time appropriate. I BEG TO DIFFER!!! I've been wearing it a lot lately haha Anyway, I'm thinking of saying it's like a neutral clubbing look or something for all those anti-fun makeup. :P
Anyway, how do you guys feel about my eye makeup looks I do for you? I mean, I get asked ALL THE TIME how I do my makeup and what I use so obviously I'm doing something right, right? I'm here for what YOU want to see, it's the whole reason I started doing these videos. I'm just a little aggravated, they'll bad mouth my looks but never give me a reason why or what they'd want to see. I just get, "Ew, I hate it." "Looks like a drag queen, gross" "I wouldn't be caught DEAD wearing this!" Well, why not?! It's very confusing, that or they're not trying to be constructive. Kind of like the "OMG your voice is stupid". What does my voice have to do with my makeup? I know, I sound like a toddler, I get it. I'm stuck with it haha. I really wasn't looking to make this entry a rant haha I'm sorry!!
Ok, so.. Tomorrow, April 2, 2011... Neutral Night Time Clubby kind of look NOT using Sugarpill haha I've noticed I've been using it so much lately, I'm going to take a little break from it.
Have a great weekend everyone!
I LOVE your tutorials and the looks you put together! Some people just like any reason to complain and the anonymity of the internet makes it too easy. I never go to clubs and I work in an elementary school, but I love fun make up and will wear similar (maybe slightly toned down) looks to work (although I am no nearly as talented as you!) Thanks for the inspiration! :-)Traci
ReplyDeleteThank you so much :D I mean, I understand they may not be appropriate for work and everything but the looks I do are for fun and to get the creative juices flowing :D Inspiration if you will, glad to know you enjoy what I do!!
ReplyDeleteHey sweet! I am completely in love with the looks you do and the creativity you had in making them. I'm so glad you're back to posting tutorials! Don't let a few comments get you down. They're only hatin on you cause you're awesome. ^.^
ReplyDeleteAww, some people really will complain about anything. It's obvious that you love bold colors, so I don't even know why they're here if they don't like using them. It's not like you've tied them to a chair against their will while laughing maniacally and smearing MUFE 75 all over their face.
ReplyDeleteMaybe people don't understand that they don't have to exactly copy the look, and can alter it to their tastes. I love the color combination in the cotton candy tutorial, but thick liner doesn't work for me so I skip that bit and add some UD Adore to define my crease. See? That was painless. No need for yelling at you to do your liner differently just because I have a different eye shape and shaky hands.
There's nothing wrong with neutral tutorials either, because we don't always have time to spend 20 minutes on our eyes. I usually wear bright eyeshadow EVERYWHERE, but UD YDK and Twice Baked with SMH Plum Crazy is my favorite OMG I have 5 minutes to do my makeup look.
And making fun of your voice is just mean. I personally love it and miss it in your new videos. I think it's cute. :3 And just take the drag comments as a compliment. I hope you don't change what you do because of a few haters. Remember that people that are inspired by you don't always comment. I know you want to help people out, but if you're not enjoying it, your blog might become a chore. You should be having fun with this too! Much love and hope to see some new stuff soon!
I love your tutorials and the way you do your makeup! Please don't change. If someone wants neutral, daytime, etc. etc. there are a ton of blogs out there that focus on only that. There aren't many that show something different and having one less blog like this is a sad thought, IMO!
ReplyDeleteDon't be afraid to tell people to look elsewhere for daytime office appropriate makeup so you can enjoy the support from readers who appreciate you how you are and what you choose to do.
The way I see it is that your tutorials are for people that are less afraid to be dramatic. If they want some suburban housewife makeup. then there are plenty of other people doing tutorials like that. They can go to those channels & let the people that want to live a little watch yours. Don't stop with your amazing makeup & let them suck it. Too many of the fun, vibrant people get sucked into doing nothing but toned down looks & the people that like the color lose all that inspiration from them.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone :) Really made me glad to read these. I love my bright looks and never plan on stopping, but I was debating tossing in a few "wearable" looks every now and again. I mean, it's not like it's hard haha. I just wish they would understand that you don't HAVE to go outside like this, but if you really want to get better or make a career out of this like I have, it wouldn't kill anyone to just sit in front of their mirror, try out the techniques/looks, and wash their face then go to bed haha. That's what I did when I was trying more OUT THERE looks, played and played until I was happy with it :D
ReplyDeleteAll of you = awesome and I love you :) Thank you again!
